There is little evidence left to support what Riane Eisler, in The Chalice and The Blade, called the “Dominator Culture” as an absolute truth. The notion that human societies must be governed by either patriarchy or matriarchy stems from a deeper worldview of human culture as a necessary hierarchy of domination over each other. Alternative models, such as Eisler’s Partnership paradigm, are erroneously seen as naïve.
The Partnership model is non-hierarchical and honours both the feminine life-giving principle, and the masculine principle of structure.
It embraces the fertile, all-encompassing nature of the feminine alongside the focused, individuating energy of the masculine — offering a more balanced and inclusive foundation for society.
